Your Song Revives My Thirst, O God
To be here when the battle is raging all around me and certainly deep within,
I cannot fathom being left alone without Your strength and the prominent angle of Your chin,
Taken away from all the cares of this world, into Your visionary arms I surrender my life as
my life blindly unfurls,
Living hectic hours spinning away not so lazily like a carnival and its tilt a whirl;
Saw You grasp my problems in one fist and clench so hard that laughter burst from my sides as
I could no longer resist,
Victory! Victory! Real before me and making wary these intricate foes whom act as if they can
stand the pressure of this,
Tingling in my lower back as I bend to enjoy the gulps of Your company, Lord God, how does Thou
continue my weary feet to presently and persistently accompany;
Thought I could go where You would never follow and couldn't see that You were
using me to prove that there could be one who depended on Your name to lend and never borrow,
I see so many that are covered in hurts and pains and wounds unknown; seen so many ways my own
heart has been scarred and shorn,
Can't really say that my knees are terribly worn, but my heart is continually and constantly
torn;
Verses won't satisfy my hunger for Your grasses anew, visions won't sustain my thirst for audience
with You,
Lord, we need a meal from You, feed us with grains and vittles so true, for if we don't
eat from You, our life is through.
Lord, we need a drink from You, we need a thirst quenching brew, for if we don't drink from
You, our hopes are waning and few.
